"Opening to the World of Plants"

In my recent blog I shared with people how I was channeling my energy into talking more about herbs and sharing remedies and teachings from the plants themselves. I had never done this before and I had no idea where to begin...it just felt clear this was the path to follow. There is such a broad world to talk about and explore!  Someone suggested I speak from the heart and begin where I am, so this afternoon I went for a walk asking the plants themselves what they wanted me to share.

I ventured out and walked towards the woods just beyond the rail trail.  I met the willow with its broken limbs and bent trunk. I saw garlic mustard everywhere, some pretty little flowers that looked like dragons, dandelion leaves and wild lettuce. There was some queen anne's lace and a lot of goldenrod that has not come into bloom yet. I saw thistle with its tip of purple beauty crowning a stem of thorns and a giant burdock behind the garbage bin. Wild grape vines were sweeping all over the chain link fence with little yellow flowers peeking out the metal holes and motherwort scattered amongst them. Close to my door I was greeted by plantain and purslane.

So what were they saying? What do these plants want to tell me? Could it be they are saying, "Here we are, right in your own back yards, on your city streets. We are here to feed you and provide you with medicines you need!  We are everywhere! You just have to see and know us for who we are! We are not the “obnoxious” weeds that grow beside the garbage and the roadside. We have value, truly we do! The medicines and nutrients we have to offer are beyond measure. Just come out and see. Be with us. Just look and listen"

So, where do I begin? What shall I tell? I think about our relationships with the plants and I go back in my mind to my own journey with the plants. I have always had a relationship with the plants however I never truly saw them. They were like constant acquaintances that I might see every day. Some I talked to and said hi, others I sought for support and nurturing, and some I just admired their beauty.  I never truly sought them out to understand them at a deeper level until about 7 years ago. I wanted to know everything! I ran right out and started a course on Practical Herbalism. I was determined to learn these plants and know their medicine. I signed up for workshops and went to classes. I was going to know how to identify the plants and make my own remedies!

Well...I can certainly say that I have definitely learned a thing or two since that time.

I have done some studying with Susun Weed and she has said repeatedly how the best way to start is with one plant at a time. At the time I thought that was crazy. One at a time!? I was almost 50! I would be 80 years old before I learned anything! I now understand that bit of wisdom much more. Developing a relationship with the plants is somewhat similar to developing relationships with people. If you choose to meet 25 people at the same time you would know much less about them than if you met 1 or 2. Your level of intimacy would be dramatically different and you would have much less opportunity to understand the vast array of gifts and talents they might have to offer. You just wouldn't have the time to invest in the relationship. I would imagine the trust level between you would also be much stronger if you only met 1 or 2.

Have you also ever considered the possibility that the plants may also 'choose' to share their gifts with you.... or not? Is it possible they also need a level of intimacy to show themselves? It may sound strange, however, if we are in fact all energy then would it not make sense that the more time you spend with someone and honor them the more they open and resonate with your vibration?

I invite you to consider it for a time and think about a plant that you have felt close to, one you love or have admired from afar.  Spend some time with it, sing or talk with it, sit, draw or meditate and really begin to listen and be with the plant. See what arises and notice a world opening up that you took for granted before.

I am noticing there is a world that is opening here as well. I feel like the plants have begun their teaching. I still have no set agenda about what I will share specifically from this point on; however, I have a feeling if I keep all my senses open that will become very clear. I am intrigued and excited to begin the journey and hope you are as well!

Enjoy your new found relationships!

Beginnings of a Harvest

Strength

I ask myself, how can I hold a lion in such small hands?
How dare I even touch my palm to its huge head?
An Amazon is suited to this task, not me.
Such power ripples beneath its golden coat.
I feel no match for it. Its amber eyes look deeply into mine.
I feel its throat throb beneath my hands.

We deify such power, worship it, submit, defer, while all the time we hate it.
How dare this brute be so beautiful?
So free? So pure? How do I dare contain such attributes?

The only way that I can play this part:
to be a woman with a lion's heart.
                            by Patricia Monaghan

Soon it will be Lughnasadh. August 1 to be exact. A time for us to consider the things we have given up or left behind, acknowledging the sacrifices of  time or effort that we have had to make to bring our dreams /our projects to fruition.  It marks the beginning of the culmination of a years work. We can use this time to reflect and ask ourselves if we are happy with what we have achieved so far and give thanks for all that has grown in the past year. We can begin to harvest that which we need for the upcoming season.

I wanted to share this poem as doing what we must in order to grow our dreams and harvest them takes great courage and strength. I am definitely being asked to reach within and embrace the lion's heart as I move into the beginning of the harvest, as I imagine are many people.

Recently, I attended the Meet, Greet and Eat group facilitated by Amy Bonin of Gusto Magazine and we got talking about the possibility of me writing a piece for the magazine. Being able to share my knowledge and experience in this way is exciting (and a little scary) and  I am thrilled to be 'harvesting' a new community!

I have been writing this blog since July of last year. Since the beginning I have purely followed process and allowed the words to move through me without any specific direction. I needed to be a beginner starting somewhere......That, however, seems to be changing. I have not written since May as I have been moving through a new shift and  had little clarity of what to write. I began to feel the need to land somewhere and choose my 'target' before I continued.

A lot of transformation and new growth has emerged over the summer months. On July 1st I "gave birth" to The Hearth Of The Witch (thehearthofthewitch.com) and since that date I have been facing a lot of the emotions one may experience after giving birth. We are creators/mothers in sooo many ways! I remember when I came home with my 1st baby daughter I felt so helpless and out of control because I had no instruction manual how to nurture and care for this brand new soul and she didn't even feel like mine.  Feeling uncertain and as an infant myself it was quite a challenging time of  fear and self-doubt, as well as immense joy, growth and learning. Thus is my life right now.

When I met Amy I was thrilled to have an opportunity to share 'The Hearth' and begin something completely new. One of the offerings of The Hearth is sharing what I have learned about using herbs in my daily life. (this is explained in detail on the website) Since the beginning of the Hearth I have given myself over and asked the Goddess Herself to lead the way. This is Her Hearth. I am merely the steward and facilitator. Up to this point most of the feedback and requests I have been getting are from people seeking more information about the herbs, people wanting to buy the remedies or wanting to learn how to make them on their own.

Developing a relationship with the herbs has been  no simple task for me. I have been working with the herbs now for about 7 years and often I still feel like I am only scratching the surface. (which would make sense as Susun Weed has said that it takes 7 lifetimes to be an herbalist!) I have found the best way to grow with the plants is to keep it simple and respond to what is in front of me, what remedies my family needs and inch by inch experiment with ways I can become more and more self sustainable in my own personal care.

Starting in August this is what I will write about. I cannot say for sure what this will look like; could be recipes, remedies, ways to identify the herbs or practices to bring into your kitchen.  I can say that each blog will assist you with getting a little closer every day to bringing the plants into your life and discovering the joy of playing with them and creating your own remedies.

For now I wish you a Happy Lughnasadh. May your harvest be abundant and full of gratitude and joy!

Blessed Be!

Transforming Plans to Action

I briefly visited my other posts and noticed there seems to be a pattern evolving here. It seems each and every time I unexpectedly get this nudge to come here without really knowing ahead of time this is how I will be spending some time.

Its a new moon and solar eclipse today. An interesting time to be pulled here.

Interestingly it also seems to come at those awkward times, however, I did make a commitment that as I  feel the nudges I would listen and act. I felt some resistance today as I had no idea (once again) what I was to write about and then I remembered this quote from this book I am reading. The book is called "The Success Principles" (by Jack Canfield)  and I must say it has loads of helpful insights and ideas how to get where you want to be. The section I am currently reading is called "Going Through The Awkward Stage". I remembered the sentence where it said that we had to "be willing to go through that awkward stage in order to become proficient.........you have to be willing to keep on going in the face of looking foolish and feeling stupid for a time"

At this point of my 'travels' this blog does not feel like it has any substantial base that it is coming from . It feels awkward as I don't have a particular theme that I follow and it basically tells me when to come to the computer and type. It is a challenge to break old habits. As I have probably mentioned before awkwardness and "fear of looking ridiculous" have not always been my friends. When they would emerge from the shadows I would cease the activity I was doing and proceed to discover another challenge I could meet ....halfway of course because as soon as these fears emerged I would cross the road and take another path.

Life is much different now. I have made a commitment. I have done the work and I have traveled too far to turn back now. When I take a close look at the progression of my journey I can clearly see that I am actually closely aligned with the turning of the wheel. I skim over the story of my life in the past year and see how Life Herself is bringing me closer every day to my Souls purpose here on earth.

Its May. Taurus. The physical, the body, instinct, the form maker, the builder, creating things in a tangible beautiful way. Plants have pushed themselves past the portal from darkness to the light. Buds have opened, allowing the sun to penetrate within. The days are longer and the sun shines stronger. Dreams, desires and passions are now being pushed to the next level....out of the soil into the light of day. I am being pushed to open to the larger whole, to open beyond the recesses of my mind and my writing on the paper. I am being asked to take steps that are bringing me closer to the physical manifestation of my vision. New steps, steps that I may not have ever considered on my own, from my own self will.

I open my senses and I hear the whispers of old voices. "What in the world are you doing? Are you absolutely crazy. You are taking on way too much you are never going to be able to do this" and yet I am being pushed like the seeds....out of my comfort of the dark soil. The Goddess is asking me to show myself, to expose my vulnerabilities and to take the risk to move into the light. To become the "Solar Female" in contrast to the Hermit who is the "lunar male". Understanding my essence as nature helps me once again connect with the season, just moving past  Beltane the cross quarter day between the March Equinox  and the Summer Solstice. At Beltane the female and male met, united and chose their paths. Together yet separate. Now it is time to shine. To act and be more of who I am out in the world.

It is at moments like this that I am grateful for the notes in my journal and the posts on this blog as I can  read and reflect on the steps I have walked on this path. It brings to my mind the Fools Journey in the Tarot and the teachings of Astrology and how it relates to my own process in these last 6 months. I look back to October, a time before Samhain, a time of entering the void, heading into darkness. Not knowing, not seeing anything tangible to hold on to except for dreams, creativity and visions. The time for me to be the Fool to take the leap into the unknown and follow my intuition, blindly and in innocence as a child. A journey through the major arcana, unfolding and deepening of a  vision and now this vision is wanting to break open, break out into the open.

I feel this spinning of wheels throughout my center as I feel the power of all the different wheels. The turning of the seasons, the planets, the cycles of the moon. The shifting of the stars and the power of numerology. My cauldron feels like it is bubbling over with immense power as all of these aspects of the Universe weave within and without of each other. Within and without of me.

Allowing is my mantra. Allowing and trusting. Getting out of the way and choosing to move from the place of interconnectedness with all things and all time. The Universal Force of Love, of Life within all things. I continue on.

Opening
Opening
Opening

The Mystery unfolds
one little step at a time

May the Goddess
be with you
as you open
to every step
along the way

Blessed Be!

Pursuing Invisible Dreams

It always seems to take me awhile to return to this post. I read over my last post and I'm astonished at the changes and time that has passed. Two months almost feels like 2 years worth of shifting, growing and moving.I find myself chuckling because so often we think we may "get" something and then as we continue to grow and evolve our experience of that "getting" shifts as well.

There is no rational explanation of why I sat down today. I just did. Five minutes ago I didn't even know I was going to be here, however, five minutes ago I realized I had to step away from my left brain and chose to plug in a CD. ( "Journey of Shadows" by Sharlene Wallace" - lovely by the way) It was only then that I felt inspired to write in this blog instead of in my journal. Perhaps that is what She is wanting me to share. So I will.

I was actually writing about this process of developing my dream, my vision of the "Hearth of the Witch". Never in my life have I continued to walk and develop something with such an absence of its physical presence in my life. As I mentioned in my last post it was always "go hard and fast" and if I saw no results I would linger for awhile and then move on to the next thing.

Saying I am moving with the cycles of the seasons and being aligned with the natural cycles of growth is one thing....doing it is something entirely different. Especially when my old tendencies of quitting and diverting my attention to a myriad of distractions  is so deeply hard wired in my brain. It takes impeccable trust, commitment and discipline to choose to follow the subtle inner whispers that keep nudging me forward.  Sometimes the nudges are ideas for my website, or a shift in my focus for the day, or doing something that feels totally unrelated to where I "think" or "should be" heading towards that day. Often I find as I listen to the deeper ideas they are taking my vision into broader landscapes than I could have devised on my own.

Regardless of what is happening during this process I seem to be eternally brought back by my ego/my mind to question why I am doing this and what it is I am doing. Each day, whether for a short moment or longer, I am greeted with thinking that wants me to see how this is futile and "just a silly dream".  I am not surprised by this at all. Lately I have been gifted with a book by a dear sister/friend called "The Great Cosmic Mother" (along with other similar books) and this is one of those examples where my Goddess takes me to broader landscapes. Its amusing actually because I have attempted to read this book before yet at the time I found it way too wordy and deep for my liking and I could not grasp the content. Today I am ready to receive these words, this information and it has radically altered my experience, my ability to listen and follow the deep wisdom that comes from the center of my belly.

It makes perfect sense to me now that I would struggle with following this irrational, illogical way of doing things. Its not only that my life, (or my mothers, or her mothers) has been dominated by patriarchal systems but this goes back by centuries; centuries upon centuries... over a few thousand years, where the "way" of living/of doing things the patriarchal way has been deeply embedded in our blood our bones our bodies. Its almost like we have forgotten. We have forgotten the way of the feminine of the matriarchal societies, of times where the Goddess was deeply revered and honored.

...and so....here I am. Choosing to stay with it, choosing to trust and believe there is something that is emerging here that is beyond me and requires time to grow and evolve. Something that requires me and everything else in the Universe to be ready. Perhaps certain old ideas have to fall away before the soil, the ground can be fertile enough to sustain and nourish this new "being" that is manifesting itself. Or, perhaps I simply have no idea what needs to happen and I just need to trust, open myself and take a little step every single day. I need to remember this is not my work that is being born. It is Hers.

So be it.
I will continue.
I will continue to be open,
to reach,
to extend myself beyond my comfort zone
and do as I am asked.

Because I am a woman and I seek that which is within.

I seek to be One with Her.

Brightest Blessings!

until next time......

Well I can certainly say life is sure a ride!

I was starting to wonder if writing this blog was another example of how I begin something and go "hard like bull" at the beginning and then my motivation and inspiration peters out and I move into the next thing life puts in front of me. Often times I read other's blogs and thought theirs were so significant and wise compared to mine. A jumble of words pouring forth from my thoughts. Comparisons, self-doubt and negative thinking can really put a plug in creativity and sharing. Perhaps this time I required some internal movement prior to coming out into the light. Perhaps it is my work with Kali as of late. Or my current work with Brigid. Or that Jupiter is now moving direct for the first time since October.

Makes me reflect. Makes sense to me that much of my work has been within and expressed in ways that appear insignificant as they are those actions that are in the little ordinary ways. I have always had difficulty valuing those small contributions since after all "I had so many gifts to share" Wow. I really did have an ego.

October. I keep being pulled to travel back in time to that moment. When though? Which October? October 2010 when I was submersed in darkness, in hopelessness and shame? In awakening slowly to the recognition once again of the choices I had made in my life that resulted in such suffering? Another step in my recovery of facing truths about my life, myself? The shame, the self loathing, the depression. Or the October of 2011 when I was taking action to save my life and remove myself and my girls from an abusive life that was killing all three of us? How about October 2012? A peace and serenity settling in, anticipation of a new life....life beginning to show promise and depth and love in relationships. A move to the city. To life. To relationships. Community.

Its February 2nd, 2013. Why reflect on October? Hekate. Crossroads. Chosen pathways. Kali has been my ally.

Perhaps that has been when the work of this cycle began?  Samhain. The void, the beginning before the beginning.

Each step has taken me here.
Each step has taken us all here.

I had been doing some deep trance work the other day and previously had been struggling about some choices that were presented to me. During the trance I heard one sentence vividly, "Be who you are now. Not who you were." Who I was when? A moment ago? Last year? 5 yrs, 10.... lifetimes? I am drawn back to the image of the drop of water from the ocean. How God Herself is the ocean and taken out of the ocean we are the individual droplets yet we are also the ocean. The substance is the same. It makes me think of myself as a micro image of the ocean. Ana who I am now is the ocean of all of the selves who came before me. All of my selves are within and I can draw on any part of myself. The self that is the personality and the Self that is part of the whole. Right now it feels like all these S/selves are coming together to be a whole. An entire ocean full of potential of possibilities.

Since I moved here I have been "looking" for places I can serve, ways to give back, things I can do to be part of the larger community. I wanted a place I can share my gifts and contribute to change. Then the other day I was reminded once again that the key words I had been using were "looking, searching, finding". I breathe and I connect with the truth that those things that are changing for the good of all and are sustainable are those things that are coming to me. Life has been bringing me the changes. I have simply (ha. yea right...so simple) been listening and responding. That has been the difference in my life. I no longer run the show. I no longer sit and plan and theorize about what I want to do next with my life.

I accept the beauty of my life. I see those ways I am able to give back. Spending time with my daughters. Calling this person. Giving someone money for a pair of shoes. Sharing a book, a remedy or a simple word. Laughing and sharing at work. Just being me. That is enough. I am feeling happiness I have never felt and a lot is due to four simple words, I am giving back....and to three other words, I am enough. Exactly from where I am. Simple, humble ways that do not come from a place of a need to belong, be recognized or from a  lack of self worth. I am moving beyond myself. I just wasn't ready before, no matter how I pushed. I needed me.

I have done the work.
Long arduous work.
It has been worth it.
It has all been worth it.

and now....now I am ready to once again be with Nature. With Her time of stirring and light slowly returning. Little bits at a time.
She is awakening.

We are awakening.

One little step at a time.

Blessed Be!

October 27, 2012

Well I started writing something back in September and then I was whipped into a vortex of shifting my reality of one life to begin a complete other one somewhere else. It all started with this blog I wrote yet never  posted.........

I am getting closer and closer to the depths of truth about what it is I am actually embarking on. The Universe Herself is leading me towards the possibility of opening my own shop and beginning my own business and I am starting to get closer to the actual truth of what needs to be done if this is to truly manifest into physical form. If truth be told I am beginning to notice the old feelings of anxiety beginning to creep up especially quickly right now.

I have had so many grand dreams before and so many of them never really surfaced into any kind of sustainable reality. The fear around this one is that I am dealing with money to a much bigger degree and there is much more responsibility along with that. Do I truly have this in my bones to be able to handle this responsibility? If I start this and  follow it through there is no easy way to pull out and say "oh I think this might not be such a good idea after all" If I keep going down this road it means I have to work extra hard and stretch my imagination and creativity beyond any boundaries I had set between me and my dreams iin the past. It means I have to fully step into my power and will not have any room for doubt and insecurity. There will be no more playing around.

I think today I have actually realized the enormity of what it is I am beginning to follow. I ask myself often am I really ready for this? Am I really capable of handling this kind of responsibility? I will be opening this store by myself. I will have to deal with the problems and I will not have others to lean on to rescue me. I will have to be resourceful and I will have to deal with whatever issues and questions come up along the way. I know it is of the utmost importance I do not try and go this alone. I have to allow others to support me and I have to be comfortable with getting out there and asking questions.

I feel the fear that my characteristic of being an introvert and not very good socially is going to get in the way of  being able to follow this through successfully. Most often in the past I was the quiet one. I think of going out with my friend and she was always the social one asking questions and making connections while I stood in the background listening and observing. Am I really ready to stand in the foreground and speak openly to others? To speak confidently about my service and what I have to offer? Am I truly ready for this? Or is this another one of my facades and unwritten stories?

I guess all in all in the end it truly is up to me. It is my choice about whether I am prepared to push myself hard enough to push past these insecure thoughts and fears and open myself in ways I have never done. The question again I ask is Am I truly ready to take this kind of leap?.............

So that was where I left off. Now I live in a new town with a new job and being gifted with opportunities to bring together what I need to create my own center. Trees and other aspects of nature have been such teachers to me. I have got to share some of the images of the trees, earth and rocks that have spoken to me in the last couple months as I have begun to cross the threshold of familiarity and security into the unknown.

To be still for so many ages. Her ear to the earth she listens and is.
Ancestors. Time.
The creation of shape
naturally taking place over many millennia

oh as humans
    the patience.....

The trees are dancing...
without question of what comes next.
They do not stop the dance
simply because they are losing all their splendor and beautiful leaves.
They simply are.
Nature.
Herself.
All life. All seasons.

Ancient mysteries?

... mysteries
contemplating
allowing

Her
Essence

 to take shape
to become
to allow

the beauty of the earth
meeting sky

conduits of energy
 of life

releasing  Her cloak
of splendor

Her arms outstretched and celebrating life.
Telling me to embrace the cycle
of all seasons.
Even the season
of death and decay.
There is an obvious beauty in the transformation from one life to the next.....

The struggle for me has been walking each day without understanding of what comes next as I lose all "my leaves", no plan, no specific ideas of what action to take next. No outline of what to bring forward and what to leave behind. This is not the time to know. I must allow the leaves to just fall and stand here bare, raw. The future is in front of me like some bottomless canyon.
I must leave self behind.
All that I have done is strewn somewhere down there in the void.

 I too am Nature Herself
 I must embrace the cycle
I must be right here
 right now

letting death come
and move ever so slowly
letting the shapes of Life form
birthing themselves
in the right time

Her time

Samhain
winter
silence
it approaches

now is not the time

I am at peace
today

 I hear and see
 the trees
the earth
the rocks
the animals

now

I am

Here goes I....

Blessed Be!

Wednesday, 15 August 2012

Well its been a little bit of time since I have written here. I keep visiting here, checking within to hear what needs to be said and all that arises is vacancy...until tonight. Tonight I received a message loud and clear just to speak from where I come from right now.

So, where am I then?

I seem to be in the middle of nowhere, a time of complete still and quiet. I keep seeing a vivid picture of myself laying on my back on the river, not doing anything but letting the river take me where it wants. If you can remember last time I spoke about the speed at which everything had been moving, and boy was it moving for a good number of days. I guess I am in sync with the moon right now though as I am in the dark just as She is. I am really becoming aware of the power of letting go, trusting and moving at the right time, knowing I will receive guidance for the next step exactly when I need it. When everything is aligned and perfect.

Fascinating thing is it truly has been different than any other time before. I seem to have left the tremendously huge bags of doubt and anxiety somewhere in my past. I have even developed the ability to act immediately upon the guidance received and move only to the degree which I have been led. That was NEVER the case in the past. Oh, I had dreams. Big dreams as a matter of fact; dreams that swam around everywhere within my mind, yet I could not get myself to take the action to bring them into my physical reality. I just had too much mud and debris clogging the stream. Thank the Goddess I was blessed with the courage, strength and tenacity to get my hands dirty and start digging in the muck....and man was that a thick stagnant mass of muck! (So in fact all those years surviving abuse and trauma were a beautiful gift! I would NEVER have gotten this far without all those situations to push me to find these traits within myself)

So, I dug in. I dug until I could completely own, accept and eventually embrace all of that muck with love. It definitely got dirty and I remember there were days I pleaded because I did not think I could take anymore. Days where I came so close to submitting completely to the dark I was not sure I could come back up. Yet I ALWAYS did. Every single time I was given what I needed to come out the other side and back to the surface.

Every single time.
Every single time Life Herself stuck out Her hand and brought me what I needed.

I remember the patterns though. I remember them well. The gifts would come and my climb back out would commence. I would begin to have hope and see promise. Dreams of a new life , a new way of living would emerge and I would become determined to make them happen. I would become like the bull charging the muleta that the matador holds and waves around in a bullfight. Interestingly, what the bull does not know is behind that red cloth is a sword that will be used to kill the bull, and that the red is used to conceal the truth of the blood spilled after the kill. The analogy works perfectly because I did not see the truth of my drive/ my passionate "will" towards my goals. I had no idea that what was behind that "cloth" was everything I needed to sabotage or "kill" whatever dreams I had awoken.

I have since learned to free the bull back to the wild and honor the movements of other creatures such as the turtle and spider or even the jaguar. Only to name a few. The animals have so much to teach in the way they go after their mate, their prey or their food. Or simply the way they live in harmony with Nature Herself.

The simpler I live and the less I carry (internally and externally), the more I am able to reflect that alignment with the One and the more Life opens to the magnificence so many of my teachers have always spoken of.

For so many years I have been able to move forward because I chose to believe that those who walked before me were telling the truth  that anything was possible. I am now beginning to taste it. I am now beginning to live it and I am excited beyond measure to be in a place where I can give back to others in the way that those others have given to me.

The trick today is to allow. As I said I am in stillness right now. I have done all that I know and now I wait. Patiently.
....and I am thrilled because it is a new moon in a couple of days and that means right now we are in the darkest time of the moons cycle and I have not gone to my own darkest places as I have before.

I simply Am

in the dark
and
 that
       is
          okay!

Blessed be All!
Love,
Sage
